M.S. “Mitch” Mitchell Floodway formerly Big Arkansas River Park
A visit to Big Arkansas River Park reveals the scenic river, which was saved from major flooding by the Wichita Valley Center Flood Control Project. Despite the recent heavy rain, Jeremy and the writer take a walk along the river bank and chat with some fishermen. The writer also shares their high school memory of seining in the river.
McKnight Parkway
A bike path and hiking trail make up this open space dedicate to the man that farmed the land and sold it so Wichita could grow.
