Minisa Pool

This pool got a major overhaul.  I loved the sculptures of all the animals around the pool.  I am guessing I did not see all of them. There were a ton, and they were cleverly concealed around the rocks.

There is ramp now that allows folks in wheelchairs to enjoy the water too!

And there is a beaver slide that reminded me of the Eagle slide at McAfee Pool.

There’s a pretty nice water slide, a shaded swim area, and it looks like a full swim lane. I am also liked the trim on the locker room. I’m not sure if it is original. The landscaping really ads depth to the park, it doesn’t just feel like a pool surrounded by hot cement.

New for the 2022 summer, an art piece paying homage to the Native Americans that once lived here. Kent Thomas Williams created a traditional Indian hut to provide shade and give the park something really unique. Kent said the piece was inspired by the teepee built on Mead Island.

These are some pics of the pool area on our first visit to Minisa in January 2020.

There is much more to see at the park across the river from North High.
