Strengthen the Arm of Liberty: Coffeyville

The Statue can be found in front of Field Kindley High School.  It has been painted white.

Coffeyville was once the home of Golden Books’ distribution center.  Golden Books first began printing in the 1940’s.  The company closed the center in June 1998.  Amazon would take it over but the building would close again in 2015.

Producer and singer Gary Paxton was from Coffeyville.  He helped produce Alley Oop, Bobby “Boris” Picket’s Monster Mash, Tommy Roe’s Sweet Pea and the Association’s Along Comes Mary along with Cherish.
