Lady Liberty stands at the entrance to the park welcoming all visitors like the real Statue of Liberty once welcomed immigrants and now welcomes lots of tourist.
Lee Jeans was formed in 1889 by Henry David Lee as the HD Lee Mercantile Company. The growth of Lee rocketed after the Salina-based company introduced their work jumpsuit in 1913 and their first overall in 1920. You can find out more about Henry David Lee in our Salina Road Trip Story.
Famous folks that spent time in Salina include Paul Harvey. He spent three years as a station manager for KFBI AM, now known as KFDI.
Tom Braniff, the founder of Braniff airlines, was also from the county.
