Strengthen the Arm of Liberty: Colby

Colby sits in northwest Kansas in Thomas County and serves as the county seat. The population is around 5,570 people. The city is named after its founder, J.R. Colby, a land assessor and preacher.

Notable people from Colby include former Kansas Governor Mike Hayden and Zelma Henderson, who at the time of her death in 2008 was the last surviving plaintiff in the 1954 Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education.
