#32 Murdock Park 1808 E Murdock

Background: The park was bought with a grant from H.U.D., through the “Parks-in-Cities” program in 1972.

It was named after Colonel Marshall Mortimer Murdock.

He was the founder of the Wichita Eagle and served as state senator and Wichita postmaster.

What We Did: There is a playground that we tried out. We walked around the area. There is a basketball court, tennis court, and baseball diamond.

There was a weird cement feature, it looked like it had a sign on it at some point. It would be interesting to find out what it was designed to do in the park.

The next park shares its name with the location of the fictional bar where everyone knows your name.
