#108 Cowskin Greenway – 10516 W Central (Approximate)
Background: From the city: “This greenway consists of several small parcels of land along the east and west banks of the Cowskin Creek which will eventually connect Swanson and Buffalo Parks.”
The main focus of the park is Nellie’s Pond, which, according to the city, is a 3-acre pond stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill and channel catfish.
What we Did: Saturday was another beautiful day in Kansas! Jeremy and I parked in the Dillons’ lot, which is recommended. We took a leisurely stroll around the pond. A number of people were fishing and many were out walking. I think, like us, they were happy just to get out of the house.
It was once the sight of a police station, now ironically, it’s home to a much vandalized statue.
