Strengthen the Arm of Liberty: Troy

This mini statue is located on the grounds of the Doniphan County Courthouse.

Troy was established in 1855 and named after the ancient city of Troy.

Notable people from Troy include novelist Chloe Gartner, author of The Infidels, Drums of Khartoum, and The Woman from the Glen.

Charles “Buffalo” Jones, a frontiersman and conservationist, co-founded Garden City, Kansas, and served as the first game warden of Yellowstone National Park.

Charles Evans Whittaker served as a U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice from 1957 to 1962.
