There are only 22 people interred at this small Garden Plain cemetery.
There were several wooden grave markers, which seemed in pretty good shape, so we were thinking they were a new addition or part of the upkeep.
According to findagrave.com the oldest death was Howard Mercer Mulkey. He was born in Tennessee on December 12, 1828. He died 50 years later on January 15, 1879. We could not find his headstone. I found his wife’s headstone, so I guess it is safe to assume he is buried somewhere near her.
The last burial at Mulkey was probably around 1897.
