5100 W Harry St, Cheney, KS

According to findagrave.com, there are no famous people buried here.  There are more than 410 people interred at this Cheney roadside cemetery.  Findagrave notes that Caroline Lentz has the oldest death date in the cemetery.

Caroline “Lina” Auguste Lentz, born on December 21, 1858, in Carlinville, Illinois, was a spirited soul. She embraced the Lutheran faith on April 6, 1873, at Zion Lutheran Church in Carlinville. Despite facing early losses, with her mother passing in 1866 and her brother Carl in 1874, Lina’s resilient spirit shone.

In 1878, when her family moved to Cheney, Kansas, Lina opted to remain in Carlinville. There, she found love and married Edward Marko on October 28, 1880. Tragically, she left this world on November 30, 1881, succumbing to complications of childbirth.

Edward, her loving husband, continued his journey until 1931, resting peacefully in Pontiac, Illinois.

The tree tops lean as the wind has swept past them for many years.  This cemetery provides a quiet reprieve for those that visit and those that rest here.
