#18 Rivera Park – 1301 Schweiter
Background: The small neighborhood park was acquired in 1946.
What we did: This park is a special place for me. The park was just a few blocks from my two best friends, so we hung out there a lot during my elementary school years. It was also the place my school would go for the end of the year picnic. Lots of fond memories in that park.
The playground equipment is different. I am guessing the stuff we played on would be deemed unsafe by today’s standards. But wasn’t the possibility of getting hurt or being scared part of the fun?
