#72 Kiwanis Park – 5101 W 2nd St N
Background: From the city’s website: This tract was operated for a number of years as “Kiwanis Park” for the benefit of needy children. The land was donated to the Board of Park Commissioners in 1969 with the provision that it stay “Kiwanis Park.”
What we did: Continuing to enjoy the great Wichita weather, this was the second park we visited today. The park is good size with a soccer field and basketball court.
There is a fitness trail that circles the park. The playground was a pretty good size too. I could not get a good pic of the rec center
The next park celebrate’s one of Wichita’s favorite athletes… a Wichita woman that broke a lot of barriers.
