K-96 Lake Park

#52 K-96 Lake – 3317 N. Hillside

Background: It’s a constant frustration that I can never find any information on our parks. The only info on this park is that the lake: is a 35-acre fishing pond stocked approximately every two weeks with channel catfish while other species such as largemouth bass, bluegill, wiper, and crapper reproduce naturally.

What we did: It was the fourth of July, and we thought there is no better way to spend the holiday then running around in the heat.

Outside of the lake, a picnic table, and a couple of fishing docks, there is not much to do in the park.

We walked along the docks and couldn’t help but notice the amount of trash laying around. Pretty sad.

Our spirits were revitalized when we spotted a mama duck taking her ducklings out for a spin in the lake.

Just down the road is our next stop, a dog park, where we celebrate the birthday of our foster dog.
