#6 Grandview Heights – 3916 E Mt Vernon
Background: Before 2006 this area featured a couple of nice homes, but they were in flood areas, eventually FEMA bought the homes and put in a park with walking paths, benches and a picnic table.
In 2009 the park was given the name Grandview Heights, reflecting the neighborhood’s name.
What we did: It’s a pretty small park. We walked around it, by the way eight loops around equals one mile. There are a few benches and a picnic table. Jeremy mentioned that all seven parks we have visited, could use some mowing.
There’s another city park right across the street from Grandview Heights. It sits along a poorly named creek and shares its name with a drive-in and a state bird.
