We also made a stop at the pop up park. It’s not listed as an official city park maybe because it is not permanent. A building was torn down leaving a big ugly hole. The city filled it in and created this spot. It is busiest at lunch when the food trucks are there.
What we did: we pretty much had the place to ourselves so we enjoyed the artwork and even played a little ping pong. Do you remember the table tennis scenes in Forest Gump? This was the exact opposite of what we were doing.
UPDATE: The pop-up park is gone. An art group has taken over the area and are hosting food trucks and art displays.
This neighborhood park is still welcoming Wichitans as it has since 1900.
